Spinal neurosurgeon Todd Lanman, MD, will begin implanting Orthofix’s FDA-approved M6-C disc replacement device in patients with cervical disc degeneration.
Three takeaways:
1. Dr. Lanman founded Beverly Hills, Calif.-based Lanman Spinal Neurosurgery, which is affiliated with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and UCLA Medical Center, both in Los Angeles.
2. He will begin implanting the M6-C in patients as early as June.
3. With a cushion-like, viscoelastic core, the artificial disc replacement technology mirrors the movements and compression of a normal human anatomic cervical disc.
